Will Johnson Bio

Will Johnson is a seasoned executive, advisor, and thought leader with more than 30 years of experience driving transformation across healthcare, financial services, and government organizations. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of CxO Advisors, where he partners with executive teams to solve complex challenges, accelerate strategic execution, and unlock sustainable growth.

Known for his ability to bridge strategy, technology, and operations, Johnson helps organizations move beyond incremental improvement to achieve meaningful, measurable impact. His work focuses on aligning enterprise priorities with disciplined execution—transforming organizations, strengthening financial performance, and enabling new models of care and service delivery.

Prior to founding CxO Advisors, Johnson served as Chief Information and Digital Officer at Tidelands Health, where he led enterprise digital strategy, innovation, and cybersecurity. During his tenure, he spearheaded large-scale transformation initiatives including enterprise platform modernization, electronic health record consolidation, expansion of virtual care, and the deployment of AI-driven solutions to enhance clinical workflows, workforce capacity, and patient outcomes.

Earlier in his career, Johnson held senior leadership roles at Cone Health, Texas Health Resources, Capital One, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the U.S. Department of Education, building a diverse foundation of experience across highly complex, regulated environments.

In addition to his executive and advisory work, Johnson is the author of the upcoming book Max Out and Go Beyond, a leadership-focused exploration of how individuals and organizations break through limitations to achieve their full potential. He is also the host of the podcast “Beyond the Boardroom,” launching in July 2026, where he explores leadership, strategy, culture, and the human side of organizational success.

Johnson holds a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and a Fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (FHIMSS), and holds CHCIO, CDH-E, and CPHIMS certifications.
